Pipelines, stages and intake

A pipeline is a board of stages that deals move through. New leads usually wait in intake, without a stage, until you decide they belong on the board.

Leads, intake and the board

  • Every lead lives on the Leads page.

  • A lead becomes a deal on the Pipeline board when it has a stage.

  • Leads with no stage yet wait in intake. They are not a column on the board. The Pipeline page shows how many are waiting, for example "12 leads waiting for triage", with a Review intake link that opens them on the Leads page.

This keeps the board for deals you are actively working instead of every name on a list.

How a lead gets a stage

  • You set it on the lead, drag it on the board, or use bulk actions.

  • You choose a stage when importing with Add to a pipeline.

  • Your admin's Lead routing gives new leads a starting stage automatically.

More than one pipeline

A workspace can have several pipelines, for example one for acquisitions and one for selling deals to buyers. Everyone can switch between them; only admins can create and change them. See Create and manage pipelines and stages.

Still need help?

In Pipelio, open Support at the bottom of the left sidebar and send a message. Workspace admins can message support directly; other teammates should ask their admin. Include what you clicked, what you expected, and the exact words of any message you saw.
