Automate follow-up with sequences

Admins can build sequences of texts, tasks and waits in Settings, then Automations. A sequence starts manually from a lead or when a lead enters a stage, and can stop when the seller texts back.

Who can do this
Admins build sequences. Anyone can add a lead to an active sequence.
Plan
Texts in a sequence need Pipelio Pro and a phone number. Tasks and waits work on any plan.

Build a sequence

  1. Open Settings, then Automations, and create a new automation.

  2. Choose how it starts: Manually, from a lead or When a lead enters a stage.

  3. Add steps with Add wait, Add text and Add task. Texts can include merge fields such as the seller's first name.

  4. Decide whether to Stop the sequence when the seller texts back.

  5. Turn it on. A sequence needs at least one step, and a trigger stage if it starts from a stage.

Add a lead to a sequence

Open the lead and, in the Automations card, choose Add an automation. The card lists Active automations and past ones. Use Stop automation to stop one for that lead.

When a text step does not send

A text step waits or is skipped when:

  • the workspace is not on an active Pipelio Pro plan,

  • the workspace has no phone number,

  • the lead replied STOP or is marked Do Not Contact.

Sequence texts only go out between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM US Central time. A reply of STOP always ends the sequence for that lead. Texts sent by a sequence count toward your text credits. See Text credits and charges.

Still need help?

In Pipelio, open Support at the bottom of the left sidebar and send a message. Workspace admins can message support directly; other teammates should ask their admin. Include what you clicked, what you expected, and the exact words of any message you saw.
