Import leads with more than one phone number
Map your main phone column to Phone (main, callable) and every other phone column to Additional phone (callable). Those numbers can all be called and managed on the lead.
The short version
In the Match columns step:
| Column in your file | Choose this Pipelio field |
|---|---|
| The best number to call | Phone (main, callable) |
| Every other phone column (Phone 2, Phone 3, Alt phone, Owner 2 Phone, and so on) | Additional phone (callable) |
You can choose Additional phone (callable) for as many columns as you need. Each number becomes a real phone number on the lead that you can call and manage.
Callable numbers versus "text only" fields
The field list also offers Phone 2 (text only, cannot call) and Phone 3 (text only, cannot call). Despite the name, these store the number as plain text on the lead. That number:
cannot be called from Pipelio,
is not checked against Do Not Contact,
does not appear in the lead's phone list.
Pipelio warns you if you choose them, and offers to make the number callable instead. Use these fields only if you want to keep a number for reference and never dial it.
Pipelio picks Additional phone (callable) automatically for headers such as "Phone 2", "Alt phone" and "Owner 2 Phone". Check the Match columns step anyway, especially for unusual headers.
After the import
Open a lead to see all its numbers under its phone field. The main number is labelled Main. You can change the main number, edit or remove numbers, and mark a number as wrong. See Manage a lead's phone numbers.
If some extra numbers could not be saved, the import finishes with Some phone numbers weren't saved.
Leads you imported before
If you imported a list earlier using the "text only" fields, those numbers are still on the lead as plain text and still cannot be called. To make one callable, open the lead and add it with Add another number.

In Pipelio, open Support at the bottom of the left sidebar and send a message. Workspace admins can message support directly; other teammates should ask their admin. Include what you clicked, what you expected, and the exact words of any message you saw.
